Affordable Housing Month (#AffordableHousingMonth) is a Bay Area-wide opportunity to learn about, celebrate, and get involved in critical affordable housing work.  Throughout the month of May, the affordable housing advocacy group in each county of the region hosts its own week of events.  CCHO will be convening San Francisco’s Affordable Housing Week from Friday May 4th through Saturday May 12th.  Join us and our member organizations at the following events to get connected and learn about affordable housing in our city!

CCHO 40th Anniversary Party!

Redefining Public Housing – 255 Woodside RAD Rededication

Celebrate the completion of 255 Woodside, which is a 109 unit, 10-story property serving seniors and disabled individuals. 255 Woodside was a part of the Rental Assistance Demonstration program, which allowed Mission Economic Development Agency and BRIDGE Housing to preserve and address deferred maintenance in San Francisco’s public housing.

Join SFHDC for a special forum discussing affordable housing issues affecting the Bay Area, as well as the successful campaign to rally African American and women voters in last year’s Alabama special Senate election. Guests: Benard H. Simelton, Perman Hardy, Sophie Maxwell, and Deven Richardson. Dwayne Jones, founder and president of RDJ Enterprises, will serve as moderator for the “Get Out the Vote” segment of the panel. Erika Aguilar, housing reporter for KQED News, will moderate the segment on affordable housing, which will address differing perspectives on upcoming ballot initiatives among other issues. $5 suggested donation

Homeownership SF 2018 Housing Expo

San Francisco’s largest housing resource fair! FREE workshops and information for renters, first time homebuyers and low income homeowners. Learn about SF’s affordable rental and ownership programs and special financing options for first time homebuyers. Meet with a legal aid counselor and access support for tenants facing eviction. Connect with loan servicing and counseling to help homeowners experiencing financial hardship avoid foreclosure. Get information credit building, debt reduction, and savings plans.
